We apologise for the change of date but are delighted to let you know that our Annual
Conference and AGM is taking place on Saturday, 20th November in The Spencer Hotel,
Dublin. We will forward the programme in due course but are particularly pleased to confirm that Greg Horton will give a workshop on fostering spoken production and interaction skills from beginners, pre-A1 level. Further info about Greg can be found below.

Please complete the registration form to confirm your attendance at the event.

Closing date for registration is Monday, 25th October.

Greg Horton is an Advanced Skills Teacher with over thirty years of classroom experience in the UK. He has also enjoyed roles as SSAT Lead Practitioner and Hampshire MFL Advisor.

Greg has led many training events and presented at national conferences. His work has gained widespread recognition, including the 2008 European Award for Languages. In 2011 he was the recipient of a UK German Teacher of the Year Award.

Now in his twilight years (his own words), Greg hopes he can still help to inspire the next
generation of language learners and teachers!

Learning to Speak, Speaking to Learn
Speaking is the epicentre of the teaching and learning of modern languages. Regular target language interaction in lessons nurtures learners who feel more confident in their general linguistic ability.

This session will offer practical classroom techniques and advice for promoting student
speaking skills. The main focus will be on developing a more natural and spontaneous kind of speaking, drawing upon the methodology of the award-winning Group Talk project.
